Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about Redcoast's Smart IoT integration, hardware-plus-software delivery, power and connectivity, overseas service and engagement models.
About the Company
What does Redcoast do? Are you a hardware manufacturer?
We are a Smart IoT solution integrator, not a hardware manufacturer. We package proven off-the-shelf hardware, our own management platform and mobile apps, and supporting services into deployable industry solutions. We do not design chips, modules or low-level hardware — we focus on the upper layer: solution design and software capability.
What do you explicitly NOT do?
To stay accountable, we keep clear boundaries: no chip, module or low-level hardware R&D; no consumer products; no hardware-only projects without software (every project must include a management platform or app); and we do not take classified or military projects unless specially authorized. When something is outside our expertise, we say so plainly rather than over-promising.
Do you have qualifications and project references?
Redcoast is a focused team of engineers with complementary software and hardware backgrounds. We prefer to earn trust through a transparent process, clear quotes and verifiable deliverables rather than polished credentials. Talk to us about your specific project and we will be honest about what we can and cannot do.
Products & Solutions
Can your solutions be customized?
Yes — customization is at the core of how we work. From hardware selection, power and communication options, to platform features, app UX and third-party integration, everything is tailored to your industry, scale and compliance needs. We do not simply re-badge someone else’s solution; every project is designed from scratch.
Why must every project include a management platform or app?
Because our value lies in the hardware-plus-software whole. Hardware alone leaves the customer with a pile of devices to operate themselves. Paired with our own web management platform and mobile apps, you get device management, real-time monitoring, data visualization and remote control — so the project is actually operable. That is why we decline hardware-only projects.
How do you handle power supply in remote areas without grid electricity?
Flexible power design is one of our key differentiators. We combine multiple power options to match the deployment environment: grid power, solar, grid-solar hybrid, wind-solar hybrid, and battery storage. Whether on city roads, in remote areas or harsh outdoor conditions, we can provide a stable and reliable power design.
What connectivity and communication options do you support?
We choose the right communication option per scenario: cellular 4G / 5G, low-power wide-area NB-IoT / LoRa, wired Ethernet, and short-range WiFi. On the platform side we support standard protocols such as API, MQTT and HTTP for smooth integration with the customer’s existing systems, avoiding data silos.
Delivery & Service
What is the lead time from order to delivery?
Standardized solutions are typically delivered in 4–6 weeks. Projects involving custom hardware selection and platform / app development take 6–10 weeks depending on complexity. Before signing, we provide a clear quote, milestones and delivery schedule — all written into the contract.
Can you provide overseas installation and after-sales service?
Yes. We provide localized deployment for the Middle East, South America, Japan/Korea, Europe and the Americas, arranging on-site installation guidance, commissioning and training, plus remote technical support. We factor in regional compliance and cultural differences (such as GDPR in Europe/US, or localization needs in the Middle East) as part of the solution.
What is the warranty period, and what about ongoing maintenance?
Hardware comes with a standard warranty and the software platform includes a free upgrade period. After the warranty, paid maintenance is available to keep the system running reliably across its full lifecycle. Exact warranty terms are confirmed in the contract based on the hardware selected and project scope.
Can we keep doing secondary development after delivery?
Yes. Secondary development of the platform and apps is one of our standard services. Whether adding features, integrating a new third-party system, or supporting new hardware, we keep iterating on the delivered system — handled end-to-end by the same team.
Overseas & Cooperation
How does cooperation and payment work?
We work in three main ways: integration project delivery (one-time payment plus maintenance), packaged hardware-plus-software standardized solutions, and platform / app secondary development services. We provide solution design and a quote for free before any contract; afterwards, one team owns everything from hardware to apps, with pricing, timeline and scope all agreed upfront.
