Overview
The REDCOAST.LTD RC-ARC-200 Smart Architectural Façade Lighting Control System is a fully grid-powered, IP66-rated outdoor LED façade and outline lighting solution engineered for large-scale urban beautification, landmark government buildings, bridges, hotels, commercial complexes and civic monuments. The system delivers pixel-mapped RGBW dynamic light with sub-frame synchronization, full DMX512 / Art-Net / sACN compatibility, and a unified web-based content management platform — letting cities and property owners run choreographed light shows, holiday scenes, brand campaigns and quiet "everyday mode" lighting from a single dashboard. Because REDCOAST.LTD designs both the LED constant-current driver PCBs and the master / sub-master controllers in-house, every project can be tuned to the architect's mounting envelope, pixel pitch, color science (RGBW vs RGBA vs tunable white) and the building's electrical infrastructure — without locking the operator into a single luminaire family.

Technical Architecture
The system is built around three hardware layers and one software layer, all designed and produced in-house by REDCOAST.LTD. At the luminaire layer, our proprietary constant-current LED driver PCB sits inside each fixture. The driver supports 16-bit PWM dimming, programmable dim curves (linear, square, gamma 2.2 / 2.4), and per-channel current calibration to compensate for binning variation. Every fixture exposes a native DMX-RDM port so installers can re-address and diagnose nodes from the network without opening the housing.
At the network layer, RC-ARC-200 sub-master controllers convert IP-based protocols (Art-Net 4, sACN) into low-voltage DMX/eDMX universes, drive up to 32 universes per controller, and provide local fail-safe scenes that continue running if the central CMS or upstream network goes offline. Sub-masters communicate upstream over Gigabit Ethernet (CAT6, 100 m) or single-mode fiber (LC, up to 20 km). For projects without a dedicated control room, an optional 4G / 5G uplink module lets the city or property owner manage the system remotely through the REDCOAST.LTD cloud CMS.
At the control layer, the RC-CMS-FCD master server (on-premise or cloud) hosts the content scheduling engine. Operators design scenes in a desktop editor, push them to the master, and assign them to time windows, weather conditions, sunrise/sunset triggers, government holiday APIs or special-event overrides. Video mapping from Madrix, Resolume, MA3 onPC or our built-in editor is supported through Art-Net pass-through. A REST API, MQTT topic stream and OSC bridge expose every scene and luminaire to third-party building management systems and event control consoles.
Connectivity & Power
This is a grid-powered product. Façade projects are essentially always installed on buildings, bridges or civic structures that already have mains supply, so the system does not use solar panels. Each sub-master cabinet accepts AC 100–240 V single-phase, with three-phase 380 V variants available for large installations. Built-in active PFC keeps power factor >0.95 and meets IEC 61000-3-2 harmonic limits. Communication options include Gigabit Ethernet (CAT6, 100 m), single-mode fiber (LC, up to 20 km) and optional 4G / 5G uplink for remote-managed projects. Internally, fixtures speak DMX512-A or eDMX (DMX over Ethernet) depending on run length and reliability requirements.
Protection & Reliability
All outdoor luminaires are rated IP66 (linear bars, wall washers, pixel nodes) or IP67 / IP68 (in-ground uplights and underwater accent fixtures). Housings use 6063-T5 die-cast or extruded aluminum with a smooth matte powder-coated finish (RAL 7016 anthracite, RAL 9016 traffic white, or custom RAL), or marine-grade fluorocarbon coating for coastal and high-humidity environments. Operating temperature range is -30 to +60 °C, with an optional -40 °C low-temperature driver variant for sub-Arctic and high-altitude sites. Salt-spray resistance is ASTM B117 ≥1000 hours. Drivers carry 10 kV / 10 kA surge protection at the input and 6 kV / 3 kA at the output, protecting installations in lightning-prone climates. Mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) for the driver assembly exceeds 50,000 hours at Tc=70 °C, supporting a 5-year project warranty on driver and luminaire body.
Application Scenarios
- Landmark Building Outlines — Government buildings, museums, opera houses and corporate headquarters use the system for everyday warm-white outline lighting that transitions to choreographed RGBW shows on national holidays, sports events and city campaigns. The CMS lets the operator switch scenes from a tablet without retraining.
- Bridge & Viaduct Lighting — Cable-stayed bridges, arch bridges and pedestrian bridges benefit from the multi-master cluster architecture, which keeps frame-synchronized pixel runs over spans exceeding 1 km, with fiber backbone and lightning-grade surge protection.
- Hotel & Hospitality Façades — Luxury hotels and resorts use the CMS to brand their exterior with property-specific color palettes and seasonal scenes, often integrated with the hotel PMS so wedding, gala and conference scenes trigger automatically.
- Shopping Streets & Commercial Districts — Linear wall washers and pixel ropes are installed under cornices and along storefront edges to create a unified pedestrian-corridor identity programmed centrally by the BID or city office.
- Civic Plazas & Monuments — Statues, fountains and monument bases are uplit with IP67 / IP68 in-ground fixtures, integrated with fountain controllers and music systems via DMX or OSC for synchronized water-light-sound shows.
- Sports & Convention Venue Exteriors — Stadium exteriors, arenas and convention centers run event-specific façade scenes synchronized with interior productions and broadcast feeds.
Case-style Examples
City Hall Façade Renovation — A capital-city government building required a façade lighting upgrade replacing 1990s-era halogen floods. REDCOAST.LTD delivered 480 IP66 linear wall washers, 64 pixel dots for arch outlining, four sub-master cabinets running over a fiber backbone, and a CMS preset with three operator-facing scenes — "civic everyday warm white", "national day red-gold-white" and "memorial day low-blue". The full installation runs from the building's existing mains panel through a new dedicated lighting feeder, with zero rooftop equipment and no solar component.
Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridge — A 1.4 km bridge project required frame-synchronized RGBW pixels along both cables, the deck edges and the two towers. A multi-master cluster of six RC-ARC-200 sub-masters keeps DMX universes in sync to <2 ms across the full span. The on-premise CMS schedules quiet ambient lighting during commute hours and choreographed shows on weekend evenings, with an automatic dim-down past local curfew.
Five-Star Hotel Re-Branding — A 200-meter hotel tower switched from static white floods to addressable RGBW wall washers tuned to the hotel's brand palette. The CMS integrates with the hotel event calendar so wedding and conference scenes are triggered automatically — the operations team only manages exceptions.
Customization & Selection Guide
REDCOAST.LTD treats every façade project as bespoke. Selection generally follows: (1) Effect intent — outline only, pixel mapping, or full video mapping; (2) Pixel density — 30 / 60 / 120 pixels per meter for linear, 50–500 mm pitch for dots; (3) Color science — RGBW for warm-white compatibility, RGBA for richer ambers, RGB for budget projects, tunable white for heritage buildings under conservation review; (4) Mounting envelope — surface, recessed, embedded, magnetic, cable-suspended; (5) Beam angle — 10° / 15° / 30° / 45° / 60° or asymmetric, with custom optics on request; (6) Control surface — physical scene console for venue operators or web-only for unattended deployments. A typical request from a project owner is a façade rendering plus a single-line electrical drawing; from that we return a luminaire schedule, a control diagram and a project BOQ.
Deployment & After-sales
REDCOAST.LTD ships pre-commissioned sub-master cabinets with the CMS pre-loaded and a project-specific patch sheet. Typical lead time is 30–45 days for standard luminaire families and 60–90 days for custom pixel pitches, special optics or custom housings. On-site commissioning, scene programming and operator training are available worldwide. The system carries a standard 5-year warranty on driver PCBs and luminaire bodies and 3 years on the master controller. Remote troubleshooting is provided through the optional 4G / 5G uplink, and field service partners are available across major regions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the system support video mapping for façade media shows?
Yes. The RC-ARC-200 master server accepts Art-Net and sACN streams from Madrix, Resolume, MA3 onPC and other industry-standard media servers. It also includes a native timeline-based scene editor for projects that do not need a dedicated media server, plus a REST API for triggering scenes from external event systems.
How is the system powered? Does it use solar panels?
The RC-ARC-200 is a grid-powered system. Each sub-master cabinet accepts AC 100–240 V single-phase, with three-phase 380 V available for large installations. Façade projects are installed on buildings and bridges with existing mains supply, so no solar panels are used and there is no rooftop solar equipment.
What pixel pitches and luminaire form factors are available?
The standard catalog includes linear wall washers at 30 / 60 / 120 pixels per meter, pixel dots at 50–500 mm pitch, IP67 / IP68 in-ground uplights, flood washers and underwater accent fixtures. REDCOAST.LTD also designs custom luminaires (non-catalog pitch, special optics, custom housings) with a 2–3 week in-house PCB turnaround.
Can the system survive coastal, desert or sub-zero environments?
Yes. Standard luminaires are IP66 / IP67 and salt-spray tested to ASTM B117 ≥1000 hours. Marine-grade fluorocarbon coating, -40 °C low-temperature driver variants, and reinforced surge protection (10 kV / 10 kA) are offered for coastal, desert, high-altitude and lightning-prone projects.
How does the CMS handle large multi-building or multi-city campaigns?
The CMS supports unlimited sites under a single tenant, with role-based access, audit logging and centralized scene scheduling. Operators can push the same campaign to dozens of buildings in different cities simultaneously, with per-site overrides for local color science, mounting envelope and curfew rules.
What standards does the product comply with?
The product targets CE (LVD, EMC, RED), RoHS, REACH, IEC 60598 luminaire safety, IEC 62471 photobiological safety, ANSI E1.11 DMX512-A and E1.31 sACN. Project-specific certifications such as UL / cUL, BIS, SASO or other national marks can be added on request to align with local procurement rules.
How long does it take to deliver a custom façade project?
Standard luminaire families ship in 30–45 days. Custom pixel pitches, special optics or unusual housings ship in 60–90 days, inclusive of in-house PCB design and prototype validation by REDCOAST.LTD. On-site commissioning and operator training are scheduled after final installation.
Does the system stay lit if the central CMS or network goes offline?
Yes. Each sub-master controller stores fail-safe scenes locally and continues to play them autonomously if the central CMS or upstream network drops. The façade is never left dark, and a default "everyday warm white" scene loads automatically after any reboot.
